The Institute of biomechanics of Valencia (IBV) has welcomed this week the final Conference of the project E-Child that has been presented "the training course on design of children's products for the improvement of the comfort and the functionality".

the content of the course "Training in design of baby products for the improvement of the comfort and the functionality" has been developed during the past two years by the IBV and ASEPRI (Spanish Association for childhood products) in collaboration with multisectoral European specialists; associations of products for children (CFE and NovaCHILD), associations of designers (ORNAMO and BAATPE), online (STPKC) training specialists and specialists in project (IEP) development, in this initiative funded by the lifelong learning programme - Leonardo Da Vinci from the Commission European.

The course develops online mode and consists of 60 hours and includes theoretical and practical contents issuing accreditation after its conclusion.
Will be available from 2014 in English, Spanish, French, Bulgarian, Finnish, German and Italian.

Designers will benefit from this valid and widely proven tool for the development of new ergonomic products intended for children.

The design of baby products requires knowledge on the evolution and changes throughout the process of child development, including aspects such as the physical interaction (fit, Anthropometry and growth), the physiological interaction (thermal comfort), engines aspects (adaptation to movements), the psychological interaction (cognitive capacity) or any combination of these (usability and security of both parents and children).
